Golf Gives Back gave $225,000 today to Building Blocks of Southwestern Indiana at a news conference held at the United Companies headquarters. The Welborn Foundation matched $50,000 to bring the total donated to $275,000. The gift will help provide resources to support Pre-K education for at-risk children and was funded by tournament proceeds from the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance.

In 2018, Golf Gives Back awarded a $50,000 grant to Easterseals for their Milestones Early Childcare and Education program and the “Golf Gives Back” Arts Studio. Golf Gives Back presented another $50,000 grant in 2019 to Community One and the Tepe Park Neighborhood Association for resources and renovations to the Tepe Park Clubhouse. In 2020, a $25,000 grant was given to the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville to support a new bullying prevention program. Golf Gives Back also presented $50,000 grants in 2021 and 2022 to Building Blocks, with an additional $50,000 grant to Building Blocks from the Welborn Baptist Foundation in 2022.

Building Blocks (formerly 4C of Southern Indiana) is a nonprofit serving 28 counties in southern Indiana. More than 40 years ago, 4C started as a true grassroots organization with a few local childcare directors and preschool teachers meeting to network and share information about childcare. 4C was incorporated in 1969. In the late 1990s, research about brain development in children identified issues around childcare as national priorities. 4C hired its first paid employees and the organization began to grow.

The 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance will take place Oct. 5 to 8 this year at Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Indiana. The previous 11 championships have generated more than $2.4 million in donations to local charities.
