Ronald Romain is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of United Companies comprised of Professional Transportation, Inc., Romain Automotive Group, and United Leasing & Finance.
Mr. Romain holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Southern Indiana (USI). He is active in a number of civic and charitable organizations including University of Southern Indiana Board of Trustees and Board of Visitors, Regency Commercial Associates Board of Managers, Koch Enterprises Board of Directors, Southwest Indiana Business Leaders Early Childhood Roundtable, Signature School Foundation Board of Directors, Golf Gives Back Board of Directors, and serves as Chairman of the Evansville Regional Business Committee.
Amy Romain-Barron is the third generation of Romain family ownership at United Companies. She currently holds the position of Senior Vice President for United Companies responsible for Operations and Information Technology within United Leasing & Finance. She is also a member of the company’s Steering Committee which spearheads the United Companies’ Quality Improvement Process.
Ms. Romain-Barron graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University. She is involved with numerous civic and community organizations, currently serving as Vice President of the Evansville Day School Board of Trustees and as a member of the First Federal Savings Bank Board of Directors. Her past involvements include: President of the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation Foundation, YWCA Board Member, Habitat for Humanity, and Vice President of the Leadership Everyone (formerly Leadership Evansville) Board of Directors.
Rick Schulz started with United Companies in 1992. As Chief Financial Officer, he directly manages the company’s Accounting, Finance, and Treasury departments. Prior to United Companies, Mr. Schulz worked in Indianapolis with a Regional Public Accounting firm for four years and with RCA, General Electric, and Thomson Consumer Electronics for seven years holding various financial management roles.
Mr. Schulz is actively involved with numerous philanthropic organizations. He is a past Chairman of the Board and current Advisory Board member for Youth First and past Chairman of the Board and Executive Board member for Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville (GAGE).
Mr. Schulz graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Indianapolis. He earned the CPA designation in 1986 and is a member of American Institute of CPAs.
Doug Petitt joined United Companies in 2019. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Petitt enjoyed an extensive career in the energy business with Vectren Corporation. There he served in many functions, including Vice President – Government Affairs, Vice President Marketing & Customer Service and Chief Information Officer.
Mr. Petitt is a graduate of the University of Louisville with a B.S. in Economics and the University of Dayton, with an MBA. He is active in the community and serves as Vice Chair of the Golf Gives Back Board and Chair of the Pro-Am for the Korn Ferry TOUR Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance, Board member of YMCA of Southwest Indiana and Board member of Southwest Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Ahlers holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Illinois. She has been involved in numerous civic and professional organizations. She currently serves as Chair of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA) Board of Directors. An active participant in ELFA, Ahlers has served on the ELFA Board of Directors since 2014. In addition to her current position as ELFA Board Chair, Ahlers is a member of ELFA’s Executive, Nominating and Personnel Committees. She previously served on the Fair Business Practices Committee. From 2015 to 2016, Ahlers was Chair of LeasePAC, ELFA’s nonpartisan federal political action committee.
Brad Harrison joined United Leasing & Finance in 1998 as Director of Accounting in charge of managing daily accounting functions. Mr. Harrison currently holds the position of Executive Vice President focused on Sourcing, Corporate Tax, Internal Audit, Credit Underwriting, and Strategic Planning.
Mr. Harrison is a graduate of Ball State University and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to joining United Companies, Mr. Harrison was a founding partner of Vowells and Harrison, Certified Public Accountants providing Accounting and Tax Services to the firm’s clients.
Ryan Parker joined United Companies in 2013 as Vice President of Administration and quickly progressed to assume the role of General Counsel. Prior to returning to his hometown of Evansville, Indiana, he practiced law in Orlando, Florida in both private practice, as well as in-house counsel capacities. In Florida, Ryan represented an array of clients such as Walt Disney, Inc., Darden Restaurants, J.P Morgan, GE Capital Solutions, and Bank of America. He also served as the Director of Legal Services for the largest trade association in the State of Florida – Florida Realtors.
Mr. Parker earned his undergraduate degree in Finance and Business, magna cum laude, from the University of Evansville and his professional Doctor of Jurisprudence in law from Florida State University. He is a member of both the Florida and Indiana State Bar Associations, focusing on real estate, development, banking, finance, and corporate law. Mr. Parker serves on the Executive Committee of the EVSC Foundation and is the immediate past President of the Evansville Bar Foundation.
John K. Roettger began his career with United Companies in 1986 as the General Manager of Romain Buick, Inc. Through July 2018, he served as President of Romain Automotive Group. Seeing opportunity to use his vast automotive experience to develop new business relationships for another of the United Companies’ business units, Mr. Roettger joined United Leasing & Finance as Executive Vice President of Business Development in 2018.
Mr. Roettger earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and his Master in Business Administration from Indiana University. He is a member of several honor societies including Tau Beta Pi, Chi Epsilon and Beta Gamma Sigma. Along with numerous community and civic memberships, Mr. Roettger was a dedicated board member for Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana, being recognized as JASWIN Volunteer of the Year in 2018. He also served as past President of the Evansville Morning Rotary Club.
