Ronald Romain is Executive Chairman of United Companies which is comprised of Professional Transportation, Inc., Romain Automotive Group, United Leasing & Finance, and Tri-State Aero.
Mr. Romain holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the University of Southern Indiana (USI). He is active in a number of civic and charitable organizations including the University of Southern Indiana Board of Trustees and Board of Visitors, Regency Commercial Associates Board of Managers, Koch Enterprises Board of Directors, Southwest Indiana Business Leaders Early Childhood Roundtable, Signature School Foundation Board of Directors, Golf Gives Back Board of Directors, and as Chairman of the Evansville Regional Business Committee.
Amy Romain Barron is Chief Executive Officer of United Companies which is comprised of Professional Transportation, Inc., Romain Automotive Group, United Leasing & Finance, and Tri-State Aero. Amy is the third generation of Romain family ownership. She has been involved in different aspects of the companies for over 20 years.
Ms. Romain Barron holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University. She is involved with numerous civic and community organizations, currently serving as President of the Evansville Day School Board of Trustees and as a member of the Welborn Baptist Foundation Board of Directors. Her past involvements include serving the First Federal Savings Bank Board, Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation Foundation as President, YWCA as a Board Member, Habitat for Humanity, and the Leadership Everyone (formerly Leadership Evansville) Board of Directors as Vice President.
Rick Schulz is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of United Companies which is comprised of Professional Transportation, Inc., Romain Automotive Group, United Leasing & Finance, and Tri-State Aero. He directly manages the company’s accounting, finance, and treasury departments. Mr. Schulz has been with the companies for over 30 years. Prior to United Companies, he worked in Indianapolis with a regional public accounting firm and with RCA, General Electric, and Thomson Consumer Electronics holding various financial management roles.
Mr. Schulz graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Indianapolis. He earned the CPA designation in 1986 and is a member of American Institute of CPAs, CPA Society, among other professional organizations.
Mr. Schulz is actively involved with numerous philanthropic organizations. He is a past Chairman of the Board and current Advisory Board member for Youth First and past Chairman of the Board and Executive Board member for the Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville (GAGE).
Doug Petitt joined United Companies in 2019. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Petitt enjoyed an extensive career in the energy business with Vectren Corporation. There he served in many functions, including Vice President-Government Affairs, Vice President Marketing and Customer Service, and Chief Information Officer.
Mr. Petitt is a graduate of the University of Louisville with a B.S. in economics and the University of Dayton with an MBA. He is active in the community and serves as Vice Chair of the Golf Gives Back Board, Chair of the Pro-Am for the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance, Board Member of YMCA of Southwest Indiana, and Board Member of the Southwest Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
Martha Ahlers has more than 30 years of commercial leasing and finance experience. She joined United Leasing & Finance in 1996 as an Account Manager. During her tenure she has been promoted to Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and currently serves as President.
Ms. Ahlers holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois. She has been involved in numerous civic and professional organizations and currently serves on the Board of Directors of United Way of Southeastern Indiana. In 2020, Ms. Ahlers was elected Chair of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA) Board of Directors and served on the Board of Directors since 2014. During her tenure, she served on the ELFA’s Executive, Nominating, Personnel, and Fair Business Practices Committees. From 2015 to 2016, Ahlers was Chair of LeasePAC, ELFA’s nonpartisan federal political action committee.
Brad Harrison joined United Leasing & Finance in 1998 as Director of Accounting in charge of managing daily accounting functions. Mr. Harrison currently holds the position of Executive Vice President focused on sourcing, corporate tax, internal audit, credit underwriting, and strategic planning.
Mr. Harrison is a graduate of Ball State University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He is a certified public accountant. Prior to joining United Companies, Mr. Harrison was a founding partner of Vowells and Harrison, Certified Public Accountants, providing accounting and tax services to the firm’s clients.
During her almost twelve years in private practice, Meagan was recognized seven times as an Indiana Rising Star by Thomson Reuters, earned the state-wide award from the Indiana Lawyer as a Leadership in the Law Up and Coming Lawyer, and locally was awarded the Perdue Leadership Award for service to the Evansville Bar Association. Meagan earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kentucky and received her Juris Doctorate from the McKinney School of Law, Indiana University – Indianapolis. Meagan enjoys being active in her community and has served on numerous boards including that of Evansville Day School, the Evansville Bar Association, the University of Kentucky Alumni Club (Greater Henderson Chapter), The Literacy Center, and the Junior League of Evansville.
