EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Local news and media outlets gathered on Monday, July 12, for the 2022 Korn Ferry Tour Championship Media Day held at Biaggi’s. Attendees enjoyed lunch and a Q&A session with Jason Gore, a colorful and well-known golf professional who was the runner-up in the 2017 Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance.
Gore is currently the managing director of player relations for the United States Golf Association (USGA). He brought interesting insight into the new LIV Golf Tour and shared stories from his professional golf career, including his time spent competing with Tiger Woods as a junior golfer in southern California.
Other speakers during Media Day included United Companies CEO Ron Romain, Golf Gives Back Chairman Jack Pate, and Tournament Executive Director Patrick Nichol, who shared details on the new and exciting changes coming to this year’s championship event.
The 2022 Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance will take place Sept. 1 to 4 at Victoria National Golf Course in Newburgh, Indiana. This year, 125 players from around the world will compete for a purse of $1 million and a chance to earn their spot in the PGA. The top 25 players following this event will retain or gain PGA Tour Cards. Through the tournament, the Golf Gives Back board, and the Old National Bank Golf Gives Back program, more than $2 million has been given back to the surrounding communities.
