Ronald Romain is Executive Chairman of United Companies. United is a multi-faceted finance and transportation organization, comprised of Professional Transportation, Inc., Romain Automotive Group, United Leasing & Finance, and Tri-State Aero.
Mr. Romain holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the University of Southern Indiana (USI). He is active in a number of civic and charitable organizations including the University of Southern Indiana Board of Trustees and Board of Visitors, Regency Commercial Associates Board of Managers, Koch Enterprises Board of Directors, Southwest Indiana Business Early Childhood Roundtable, Signature School Foundation Board of Directors, Golf Gives Back Board of Directors, and Chairman of the Evansville Regional Business Committee.
Amy Romain Barron is Chief Executive Officer of United Companies. United is a multi-faceted finance and transportation organization, comprised of Professional Transportation, Inc., Romain Automotive Group, United Leasing & Finance, and Tri-State Aero. Amy is the third generation of Romain family ownership. She has been involved in various aspects of the companies for over 20 years.
Ms. Romain Barron holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University. She is involved with numerous civic and community organizations, currently serving as a member of the Welborn Baptist Foundation Board of Directors. Her past involvements include serving as President of the Evansville Day School Board of Trustees, First Federal Savings Bank Board, Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation Foundation as President, YWCA as a Board Member, Habitat for Humanity, and the Leadership Everyone (formerly Leadership Evansville) Board of Directors as Vice President.
Martha Ahlers has more than 30 years of commercial leasing and finance experience. She joined United Leasing & Finance in 1996 as an Account Manager. During her tenure she has been promoted to Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and currently serves as President.
Ms. Ahlers holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Illinois. She has been involved in numerous civic and professional organizations and currently serves on the Board of Directors of United Way of Southeastern Indiana. In 2020, Ms. Ahlers was elected Chair of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA) Board of Directors and served on the Board of Directors since 2014. During her tenure, she served on the ELFA’s Executive, Nominating, Personnel, and Fair Business Practices Committees. From 2015 to 2016, Ahlers was Chair of LeasePAC, ELFA’s nonpartisan federal political action committee.
Rick Schulz is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of United Companies which is comprised of Professional Transportation, Inc., Romain Automotive Group, United Leasing & Finance, and Tri-State Aero. He directly manages the company’s accounting, finance, and treasury departments. Mr. Schulz has been with the companies for over 30 years. Prior to United Companies, he worked in Indianapolis with a regional public accounting firm and with RCA, General Electric, and Thomson Consumer Electronics holding various financial management roles.
Mr. Schulz graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Indianapolis. He earned the CPA designation in 1986 and is a member of American Institute of CPAs, CPA Society, among other professional organizations.
Mr. Schulz is actively involved with numerous philanthropic organizations. He is a past Chairman of the Board and current Advisory Board member for Youth First and past Chairman of the Board and Executive Board member for the Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville (GAGE).
Doug Petitt joined United Companies in 2019. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Petitt enjoyed an extensive career in the energy business with Vectren Corporation. There he served in many functions, including Vice President – Government Affairs, Vice President Marketing & Customer Service and Chief Information Officer.
Mr. Petitt is a graduate of the University of Louisville with a B.S. in Economics and the University of Dayton with an MBA. He is active in the community and serves as Vice Chair of the Golf Gives Back Board, Chair of the Pro-Am for the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance, board member of the YMCA of Southwest Indiana, board member of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and board member ofthe Evansville Regional Economic Partnership.
Brad Harrison is a graduate of Ball State University and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. Mr. Harrison is a Certified Public Accountant. Upon graduation, he joined Citizens Bank in Evansville, Indiana initially in the Commercial Credit Department and was subsequently promoted to Commercial Loan Officer.
In 1978, Mr. Harrison joined an Evansville-based Accounting Firm. Over the next 10 years he received a number of promotions and became a Partner in the Firm. In 1992, Mr. Harrison founded the Accounting Firm, Vowells, Harrison and Co. CPA’s focusing on Accounting and Taxation for clients in the Evansville area.
In 1998, he sold his accounting practice and joined United Leasing & Finance of Evansville, Indiana initially as Director of Accounting, managing the daily accounting functions for the leasing company. Mr. Harrison was subsequently promoted to Vice President of Accounting for United Companies. In this capacity, he was responsible for the management of all accounting functions and accounting personnel employed by all of the business units known as United Companies. Currently, Mr. Harrison serves as Executive Vice President for United Companies, reporting directly to Ron Romain, with responsibilities in corporate income tax, internal audit, and strategic planning.
Ryan Kassenbrock joined United Companies in 1999 and has served in various roles across business units in areas of Accounting, Finance, & Operations. In 2016, Mr. Kassenbrock was promoted to President of Professional Transportation, Inc. (PTI). Most recently, in July 2022, Ryan was promoted to his current position as Executive Vice President – Administration for United Companies, where he has responsibility for Risk Management, Facilities, Asset Management, Employee Benefits, and Strategic Projects. He is a member of the United Companies Steering Committee.
As an Evansville, Indiana native, Mr. Kassenbrock earned a degree in Accounting from the University of Southern Indiana and is a Six Sigma Green Belt. He proudly serves as a member of the USI Romain College of Business Board of Advisors.
Meagan Brien joined United Companies in 2022 as Vice President & General Counsel. Meagan was previously a partner at the law firm Dentons Bingham Greenbaum LLP, part of a large, multinational law firm, where she focused on corporate litigation, fiduciary litigation, and outside business counsel, all for a variety of industries. This outside business counsel emphasis allowed her to problem solve for her clients, which included large and small closely held businesses, nonprofits, and financial institutions. Meagan is licensed to practice law in Indiana, Illinois, and her native Kentucky. She has practiced before the state and federal courts of these jurisdictions, as well as numerous administrative bodies.
During her almost twelve years in private practice, Meagan was recognized seven times as an Indiana Rising Star by Thomson Reuters, earned the state-wide award from the Indiana Lawyer as a Leadership in the Law Up and Coming Lawyer, and locally was awarded the Perdue Leadership Award for service to the Evansville Bar Association. Meagan earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kentucky and received her Juris Doctorate from the McKinney School of Law, Indiana University – Indianapolis. Meagan enjoys being active in her community and has served on numerous boards including that of Youth First, Inc.,the Evansville Bar Association, University of Kentucky Alumni Club (Greater Henderson Chapter), The Literacy Center, Evansville Day School, and the Junior League of Evansville.
Daniel Diekmann brings experience as a business owner to United Leasing & Finance plus more than 20 years of experience in business development, corporate strategy, team building, and alliance management. His time out of the office is spent with his wife wrangling their three young boys. Daniel enjoys being outside more than inside and is happiest on the water. He is getting reacquainted with his Midwest roots after calling the Pacific Northwest home for the past 12 years.
John K. Roettger began his career with United Companies in 1986 as the General Manager of Romain Buick, Inc. Through July 2018, he served as President of Romain Automotive Group. Seeing opportunity to use his vast automotive experience to develop new business relationships for another of the United Companies’ business units, Mr. Roettger joined United Leasing & Finance as Executive Vice President of Business Development in 2018.
Mr. Roettger earned his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Purdue University and his Master in Business Administration from Indiana University. He is a member of several honor societies including Tau Beta Pi, Chi Epsilon, and Beta Gamma Sigma. Along with numerous community and civic memberships, Mr. Roettger was a dedicated board member for Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana, being recognized as JASWIN Volunteer of the Year in 2018. He also served as past President of the Evansville Morning Rotary Club.

Mike Stoddart has been in banking and finance since 1986 and with United Companies almost 20 years. He is an expert in fleet services, working in that industry the entire time he has been with United Leasing & Finance. Mike is an Army veteran and has two kids and five grandkids. He and his wife Julie love cheering on the University of Kentucky, being bums on the beach, and traveling — the farthest they have traveled is to Australia.

Kevin Boeke brings 26 years of industrial sales experience to United, working with heavy industrial/MRO equipment for manufacturing and construction facilities in the greater Evansville region. He and his wife Holly have three children. Coaching has been a passion of Kevin’s for years, and he’s had the opportunity to coach Evansville youth basketball, softball, and most recently for the Newburgh Naturals baseball team. For Kevin, coaching allows him to not only help kids develop athletically as great teammates but also as great young adults in the Evansville community.

He then obtained a Master of Science in biochemistry and molecular biology from Indiana University’s School of Medicine in 2018. After a brief stint in medical research, Jon realized he craved a more social professional environment and transitioned into a sales career, most recently with Thompson’s Honda in Terre Haute, Indiana, before joining the United family. Born and raised in Terre Haute, Jon currently resides in Robinson, Illinois, with his wife and young daughter. In his free time, Jon enjoys playing golf, studying market trends, and spending time with his family.
